The information requested is authorized by the Fish and Wildlife Act (P.L. ), the Anadromous Fish Conservation Act (P.L. ), the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation & Management Reauthorization Act (P.L. ), the Atlantic Striped Bass Conservation Act (P.L. ) and the Sustainable Fisheries Act of (P.L. ). The Atlantic Striped Bass Conservation Act and the Atlantic Coastal Fisheries Cooperative Management Act direct state and federal conservation and management efforts for this population. Both Acts contain provisions to impose a federal moratorium on striped bass fishing in states that fail to comply with the Commission’s management plan. On Octo , Federal waters were designated as off-limits for the possession and targeting of Atlantic striped bass by way of the Atlantic Striped Bass Conservation Act-- P.L.
